At Accomplish Speech Pathology, we offer support for individuals of all ages who experience challenges with eating, drinking, or swallowing. For children, this may include difficulty engaging with meals, fussy or selective eating, or trouble progressing to age-appropriate textures and foods. For adults, swallowing concerns may arise following a medical diagnosis such as stroke, brain injury, or a progressive neurological condition. Our services include assessment of swallowing safety, support for mealtime routines, and practical strategies to make eating safer, more enjoyable, and better suited to individual needs. We work closely with families and healthcare teams to ensure comfort, nutrition, and quality of life are prioritised at every stage.

Who We Support?

Feeding is a complex skill that relies on coordination between the mouth, muscles, nerves, and brain — but it also involves learning, habits, emotions, and family dynamics. Feeding difficulties can arise at any stage of life and may present in many ways, including difficulty chewing or swallowing, coughing or choking during meals, food refusal, severe food selectivity, or sensory aversions to textures or temperatures. Some children may show anxiety around mealtimes, rely on bottles or purees beyond expected ages, or struggle to transition to solids. At Accomplish Speech Pathology, our feeding and mealtime services are evidence-based, family-centred, and tailored to your child’s developmental stage, medical needs, and daily routine.

Swallowing difficulties, medically known as dysphagia, can affect people of any age, including infants, children, and adults. In adults, dysphagia may result from a stroke, brain injury, surgery, or progressive conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease, or dementia. These changes can impact safety, nutrition, and quality of life. Our swallowing services include comprehensive assessment, individualised recommendations for safe eating and drinking, and ongoing support to promote health, dignity, and comfort. We collaborate closely with families, carers, and healthcare teams to ensure safe, meaningful mealtime experiences across the lifespan.
