Communication is often one of the first abilities affected by a stroke or neurological condition—and one of the most powerful to regain. At Accomplish Speech Pathology, we specialise in providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy for adults recovering from stroke, brain injury, and neurological disorders.

We understand that every person’s recovery journey is unique. Our role is to walk alongside you with clinical expertise, personalised support, and a belief in what’s possible—no matter where you begin.

Supporting Communication and Swallowing After Neurological Injury

Neurological conditions can affect many areas of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing. We provide support for:

  • Aphasia – difficulty understanding or using spoken and/or written language
  • Dysarthria – slurred or weak speech caused by impaired muscle control
  • Apraxia of Speech – difficulty planning and coordinating the movements needed for speech
  • Cognitive-Communication Disorders – issues with memory, attention, reasoning, or problem-solving that affect communication
  • Dysphagia – difficulty swallowing safely, which may impact nutrition, hydration, and quality of life

We also work with progressive neurological conditions, such as Parkinson’s disease, motor neuron disease (MND), multiple sclerosis (MS), and dementia, offering communication support through each stage of the condition.

Our Rehabilitation Approach

At Accomplish Speech Pathology, we provide holistic care that’s grounded in current research and shaped around each client’s goals:

  • Comprehensive Assessment: We begin with an in-depth evaluation of communication, cognitive, and/or swallowing abilities, identifying strengths and areas for support.
  • Goal-Driven Therapy: We work with you and your support network to set meaningful, realistic goals—whether it’s saying your grandchild’s name, making a phone call, ordering at a café, or returning to work.
  • Functional, Real-Life Focus: Therapy is designed to help you engage more fully in daily life, relationships, and decision-making. We focus on what matters to you.
  • Swallowing Support and Mealtime Safety: We assess swallowing, recommend dietary modifications, and offer strategies to improve safety and enjoyment during meals. We liaise with medical teams and support applications for funding or further assessments if needed.
  • Support for Carers and Families: Neurological changes impact the whole family. We provide education, communication tools, and emotional support to help carers feel confident and connected.
  • In-Home and Mobile Services: We come to you—whether at home, in supported accommodation, or in the community—because familiarity and comfort are essential for progress.

Recovery with Dignity, Strength, and Hope

Communication is deeply tied to identity, independence, and dignity. When it’s taken away by stroke or neurological illness, it can be devastating—but with the right support, recovery is possible.

At Accomplish Speech Pathology, we offer more than therapy—we offer hope, persistence, and partnership. Our mission is to help you rediscover your voice, reconnect with your world, and reclaim your independence.
